Job Description:

We are seeking a Personal Care Assistant to support a 27-year-old female with moderate learning difficulties, Autism, ADHD, and Hypotonia, living independently in Prudhoe.

The role involves working as part of a team of 8 support workers, providing 24/7 support with 12-hour shifts, including nights. Shifts are typically 2:1, but can be adjusted based on applicant availability.

The ideal candidate will have a positive, outgoing personality with a good sense of humor, be physically fit, and have good general health. Experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. Drivers are preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, domestic duties, supporting independence, and engaging in activities like walking, swimming, trampolining, and shopping. The young lady can be complex and may exhibit challenging behavior, requiring empathetic and understanding carers.

Rate of pay is £13.09 per hour for daytime and waking nights, £11.44 for sleep-ins. Holidays are 5.6 weeks per year, pro-rata. Main duties include supporting independence, activities, safety, and domestic tasks.

Applicants should ideally have experience with autism, learning disabilities, or ADHD, and possess qualities such as punctuality, reliability, flexibility, and a caring nature. An Enhanced DBS check is required, with costs covered by the employer.
