To provide support for an 11-year-old male child with Autism, a profound learning disability, Cognitive Development Delay, significant Sensory Needs and Hypermobility.

Main Duties
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Support Worker for an 11-year-old boy. Ideally you will be energetic and passionate about working with children and be someone who can make activities and experiences enjoyable and fulfilling for him. You will have a high degree of initiative and be reliable and punctual. The support will be offered to provide a range of activities within the local community to including walks in the park, countryside and woodlands and on occasions drives out in the car. Overview of Role:

· Play & Engage: Help him to enjoy his favourite activities.
· Routine Support: Help with developing and following routines, which can provide him with a sense of security.
· Personal Care: Support with all personal care needs.
· Supervision & Safety: Close supervision will be always needed as he has no danger awareness and due to his Hypermobility has the aid of a wheelchair.
· Experience is preferred: Ideally you will have experience of working with children and/or young people who have complex needs.
· Empathy & Patience: You will have patience and empathy, so you build a secure relationship and work with him to reinforce positive communication and behaviour.
· Flexibility & Availability: This role requires someone who’s available during school holiday weeks only. There is some flexibility about which days the support takes place.
· Additional Essential Requirements:

Car driver is essential and must have Business Insurance.
Hours
4 hours per week in all school holiday weeks, except during the summer six weeks holidays when there are 8 hours per week.
Rates of pay £17.23 per hour. 5.6 weeks holiday (pro rata) ILGPA Benefit Scheme, further details at interview. Some out-of-pocket expenses will be met by the Employer.
DBS -This post is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check, cost to be met by Employer.
