(a4df6f08) We are looking for an experienced support worker to provide 2:1 support for a 6-year-old boy living in the Ashington area. The role involves encouraging socialisation with peers and engaging in age-appropriate activities outside the family home.
The child lives at home with his parents and three siblings. He has a rare chromosome abnormality, ADHD, Autism, a Learning Difficulty, a visual impairment, and uses a wheelchair outdoors. He has a gastronomy feeding tube, with full training provided before starting. Personal care, including toileting, will be required.
The boy is active and enjoys climbing, being outside in the car, and making a mess. Support workers should be able to calm his behaviour when he becomes overexcited. Two support workers are needed to assist with activities like soft play while ensuring safety.
Driving is not essential as there are many local activities, but a driver should have business use insurance if applicable. Mileage will be reimbursed as per agreement.
The ideal candidate will be:
Hours Breakdown:
£13.09 per hour. A full enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required, with costs covered by the employer.
Training will be provided, including medication administration, moving & handling, safeguarding, and online training access via Northumberland County Council.
6 hours/week, flexible schedule, £13.09/hour, weekly pay approximately £79, monthly and annual figures as per schedule.
