We are currently looking for Support Workers/enablers to work for a 16-year-old girl to provide care at home as well as support accessing the local community with leisure activities.

The role could be suitable for one person or as a job share. It is ideal for someone wishing to fit work around other commitments.

Hours: 20 hours per week, broken down as follows:

  • Monday – Friday 7.00 – 8.30am; and 7.00-8.30pm
  • Saturday & Sunday 9.00-10.30am; and 7.00-8.00pm

Evening times are flexible and can be arranged with the employer. During school holidays, hours can be more flexible.

Role Responsibilities:

I am a full-time powered wheelchair user with a neuro-muscular condition, unable to stand or walk, with limited arm strength. I enjoy reading, writing poetry, singing, musical theatre, movies, shopping, and meeting friends.

I need help with personal care including showering, dressing, and toileting, using mobility aids and hoists. Full training on hoisting will be provided.

Transport: The area is well served by buses and trains. A driving license is useful but not essential.

You Must:

  • Relate well to teenagers and enjoy a good laugh
  • Understand disabilities and have a positive, caring nature
  • Be proactive, able to improvise and solve problems
  • Respect confidentiality
  • Be punctual, reliable, and never leave the client unsupervised
  • Be flexible when needed

Pay Rate: £15.04 per hour

Additional: An enhanced DBS disclosure is required, with costs met by the employer.
