(b) To provide support and personal care for a young gentleman who suffers from a neuro condition Adrenoleukodystrophy and Young Onset Frontotemporal Dementia, and also epilepsy.
This gentleman is 53 years old, with an 11-year-old daughter and three grown children from a previous marriage. His wife is his main carer but plans to return to part-time work in September.
He needs support with daily living tasks, including personal care, as he struggles with sequencing.
We seek someone who can make him feel comfortable and share his interests, such as outdoor activities, the beach, walking, and football (his favorite team is Newcastle United).
The role involves supporting him to find new hobbies and remain active, as he cannot make these decisions independently. He is described as very calm and has a great personality.
6 hours per week, scheduled as follows:
Additional hours may be needed to cover support workers’ holidays, with notice provided.
£13.09 per hour. Holiday entitlement is 5.6 weeks per year (pro-rata). Out-of-pocket expenses, such as mileage and activity costs, will be reimbursed. Further details will be provided at interview.
Driver’s license and insurance for business use are required.
This position is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check, at the employer's expense.
6 hours/week, with specific scheduled times as detailed above. Pay rate is £13.09/hr. Weekly pay approximately £79, monthly and annual figures are proportional based on hours worked.
