Personal Care Assistant for a person P/T £11.88/hr in Chipping Sodbury - Bristol - BS37

KSM has been diagnosed with ME/CFS and requires support on a daily basis. K requires support to meet her nutritional and personal care needs and also with maintaining her social and emotional wellbeing.

K enjoys doing craft activities.

Main Duties

To support with:

1. Meal preparation: lunch and evening meals. Providing snacks and drinks to ensure K has regular food and fluid intake. PA to use hours flexibly and batch cook meals.
2. Personal care: assist with daily wash in bed, and support with changing clothes.
3. Toileting: assist with female urine bottle and accessing commode.
4. Social and Emotional wellbeing: engaging with activities, including craft. Spend meaningful 1:1 time with K on a social level and engaging with regular social stimulation.

Essential Criteria

1. Experience of working with a person with ME/CFS
2. Non-smoker

Personal Qualities & Attributes Required

1. Responsible, reliable, and trustworthy.
2. Excellent timekeeping.
3. Some previous PA experience would be advantageous but not essential.
4. Good communication and social skills.
5. To respect confidentiality and privacy.

Location:

Chipping Sodbury, South Gloucestershire.

Hours:

Sunday to Saturday (7 days per week) for 14.5 hours per week.

Pay:

£11.88 per hour.

Holiday:

5.6 weeks per year including bank holidays (pro rata for part time).

Start Date:

ASAP.

Additional Information

1. Appointment will be subject to a DBS check, funded by the employer.
2. Employer lives with their husband, children, cats and dogs.
