Job description

Personal Care Assistant for a mature adult 22 hr/wk @ £13.74/hr in Hexham - FTE - £26.8k - Hexham - NE48

Family is looking for carers who can support an older gentleman in the Bellingham area. They are looking to recruit a team of carers to support him within the family home. The gentleman has a diagnosis of Motor Neuron Disease (MND) and hypertension, and his mobility has reduced, putting him at risk of falls. He enjoys watching TV, Rugby, rowing, and listening to classical music.

Hours of work: 22 hrs per week including day, evening, and weekend calls 3 times a day, 7 days a week.
Days and times to be discussed at interview.
Rates of Pay: £13.74 per hour
Location: Bellingham area

Main Duties: To support with hoist transfers in/out of bed or positional changes, personal hygiene, continence care, and assistance with showering while helping to reduce the risk of falls. Also, to be flexible and support with cover for holidays and sickness leave.

Further Information: An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (DBS) will have to be obtained for the successful candidate (at employer’s expense).
Training: Where required, such as in Health and Safety matters, practical training and guidance will be arranged, and the care worker will be expected to attend. This will include moving and handling, medication awareness, and additional training specific to the client.
