Job Purpose

To enable an active 36-year-old young man with severe learning difficulties and complex communication needs to live in his own home and engage in everyday activities. To be part of a small team to look after him, which includes doing household chores for him.

Will be for 30 to 40 day hours @ £12.38 ph and 10 night hours @ £12.21/hr

Essential

• Knowledge and Experience of working with people who have Severe Learning Disabilities and Autism
• Experience of working with people who have complex and challenging behaviours and be prepared to undertake ongoing training
• First Aid & Epilepsy knowledge (training available) and to be attentive and alert at all times regarding clients' safety
• To be able to engage and encourage the client at every opportunity
• To hold a Clean Full Driving Licence
• To respect the client's dignity at all times
• Must be able to work as part of a team and report regularly to a Team Leader
• To have High standards of Hygiene

Desirable

• Physically active and have a good sense of humour
• Basic food preparation & cooking skills
• Be able to complete everyday chores
• Be willing to attend further training if required

Summary Terms and Conditions

• The rate of pay for this position is £12 per night hour (10pm - 8am), £12 per hour (8am - 10pm).
• You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role, including mileage at 45p per mile.
• Hours and times of work will be agreed with the Employer.
• A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
• Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
• Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
• Completion of Mandatory Careskills Training as set by the Employer.
