Job Purpose
To enable an active 36 year-old young man with severe learning difficulties and complex communication needs, to live in his own home and engage in everyday activities. To be part of a small team to look after him, and includes doing household chores for him.

Will be for up to 20 day hours @£13 ph and 10 night hours @£12.21hr

Essential
  • Knowledge and Experience of working with people who have Severe Learning Disabilities and Autism
  • Experience of working with people who have complex and challenging behaviours and be prepared to undertake ongoing training
  • First Aid & Epilepsy knowledge (training available) and to be attentive and alert at all times regarding clients safety
  • To be able to engage and encourage client at every opportunity
  • To hold a Clean Full Driving Licence
  • To respect clients dignity at all times
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and report regularly to a Team leader
  • To have High standards of Hygiene

Desirable
  • Physically active and have a good sense of humour
  • Basic food preparation & cooking skills
  • Be able to complete everyday chores
  • Be willing to attend further training if required

Summary terms and conditions· The rate of pay for this position is £11 per night hour (10pm - 8am), £13 per hour (8am - 10pm).· You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role, including mileage at 45p per mile. · Hours and times of work as follows: As agreed
  • A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer

  • Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.

  • Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 3 months (for the permanent hours).
