Overview

A Personal Support Assistant is required for up to 3 hours per week to accompany a 26 year old gentleman who has Down's syndrome and autism to enjoy outdoor activities. The gentleman is non-verbal, so basic knowledge of Makaton would be ideal. It is essential that the Support Assistant has the use of a car to take him to various activities. His interests include football, sports, bowling, playing pool and dancing. The 3 hours are flexible and can be split into various shifts or taken in one day, depending on activity. This role requires Saturday and/or Sunday daytime work. The rate of pay is £15.65 per hour. A DBS check is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and support to enable outdoor activities for a non-verbal adult with Down's syndrome and autism.
• Assist with transport to activities; must have access to a car.
• Support participation in activities aligned with the gentleman's interests (football, sports, bowling, pool, dancing).
