Job description

Personal Care for a 55yo spinally injured man. I am looking for a compassionate and reliable Personal Care Assistant to help me with all aspects of my personal care and daily needs. This role requires someone familiar with hoisting, and safe moving and handling practices.

The hours available are evenings 7 days per week for 1 hour and Weekend late morning/early afternoons for 4 hours each day, plus potentially Emergency cover to cover Annual leave and sickness for other staff. I’m happy to employ more than one person for the role, you do not need to be available for all these hours.

Key Responsibilities:

Helping with personal care, including bathing, dressing, bowel care.

Monitoring skin care.

Safe use of hoists and mobility support equipment.

Helping with transfers and safe moving and handling.

Cooking and meal prep.

Helping with light household duties to keep a clean and comfortable environment.

Requirements:

Experience with spinal injury care and use of hoists preferred but training can also be given.

Compassionate, punctual, and reliable.

Ability to drive a bonus.

Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanour.

Ability to work flexible hours is a bonus.
