Job summary

A local social care provider is looking for a compassionate individual to support a client with disabilities. The role involves personal care, cooking assistance, and encouraging social interaction and independence. This position requires a flexible schedule with 16 hours per week plus potential sleep-ins. A full driving license is essential for transporting the client. No previous experience is required but a caring attitude is a must.

About the Employer

Who wants to come and work with this legend?!? Stephen or DJ Scootey as he’s affectionately known. This would initially be on a casual basis and on a zero hours contract. Will require only 1 weekend a month and the occasional midweek sleep over when necessary. This literally is the best job. Imagine you hang out with the coolest dude going!! Experiencing fun days. The only challenge you may face is the need to appease his desire for you to ride the scariest rollercoaster going and not be a sore loser when he thrashes you at bowling….also be expected to become a Nottingham Forest fan if only for 90 minutes at a time. This is a great way to earn a top up income but also get to experience the wonderful world I have had the pleasure of experiencing for the last 25 years. You would be joining a team of wonderful staff who all bring different elements to Stephen’s life. About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
• Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
• Support and/or prompt the individual to take medication.
• Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
• Support and/or prompt to attend appointments as necessary, e.g. hospital/doctors.
• Support with food shopping.
• Support to get to and from school/work/college/social activities.
• Support and/or prompt the individual to access sporting and leisure activities.
• Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities.
• Promote and encourage friendships and independence.
• Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.
• Support with gardening.

The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).

Transport Requirement:

Full driving licence is essential as the role requires you to drive the employer’s vehicle (employer to check age requirement with car insurance provider).

• Be self-motivated with a willingness to get involved.
• Have a lively personality.

When you are Required

Hours per week: 16 hrs per week plus 1x sleep-in (Additional hours to be discussed)

This position will require:

• Shift work
