We’re looking for one or two Personal Assistants to support a friendly 36-year-old woman with autism and a mild learning disability, helping her build confidence and continue living as independently as possible.
Support hours are very flexible and can be discussed at interview, making this a role that can work well around other commitments. This post is for female applicants only.
Our client is friendly, outgoing and enjoys a chat. You’ll calmly encourage her to plan and prepare meals and complete household chores. You’ll support her to do as much as she can herself and step in when needed. A big part of the role is companionship: enjoying conversations, taking an interest in the things that matter to her, and chatting about her favourite TV programmes. You’ll also support her to get out and about in the community, so a full driving licence is preferable, however, she also likes to go out for walks, although caution is required when crossing roads.
The family will provide guidance and support to help you feel confident in meeting her needs, including with some light personal care.
We’re looking for someone who is caring, patient and dependable, with a good sense of humour and a flexible approach to work. Experience supporting someone with autism would be an advantage, but it isn’t essential.
An enhanced PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) check is required for this role.
