Personal Assistant to Director of Resources – Police Staff – Counter Terrorism Policing HQ

Information about the Role

The Director of Resources (DoR) has responsibility for a wide range of national and local counter terrorism (CT) functions that spans the National CT Policing (CTP) Network, the MPS and Specialist Operations (SO). The post holder works as the Personal Assistant to the DoR, who will lead on diary management and other administrative functions. Alongside the Staff Officer, they form the Private Office to the Director of Resources.

Responsibilities

  1. Maintaining & co-ordinating a computerised diary for the Director.
  2. Organising and recording meetings, checking facilities and receiving visitors.
  3. Creating and maintaining a system of document retrieval for the team with relevant permissions.
  4. File correspondence both electronically and manually, including the handling of highly classified and personal papers, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with government classification scheme (GSC) guidelines (e.g. locking away sensitive material and shredding documents where appropriate).
  5. Support the work of boards; including minute taking for Senior Management meetings supporting the work and any ad hoc informal meetings, as and when required.
  6. Monitoring and responding to all communications (mail, e-mail, & telephone).
  7. Be responsible for ensuring papers are submitted to the Director in a timely fashion for meetings.
