Job summary

Disability North is seeking a friendly Personal Assistant to support a 13-year-old boy with adventurous activities, history and creative projects.

The role focuses on safe, paced outings to trampoline parks, castles, walks, Roblox, baking and shopping trips, helping him gain confidence and independence.

You will work around 7 hours per week in the Blakelaw/Newcastle area; prior experience with young people is helpful but not essential; patience and safety are essential.

Responsibilities

• Safely accompany and support a 13-year-old on adventures and activities.
• Join in trampoline parks, arts and crafts, Roblox, baking and shopping trips.
• Visit castles and historical sites; explore architecture and history together.
• Encourage independence, confidence and learning through fun, paced activities.
• Ensure safety and adapt pace to the young person’s needs.

Hi, I'm Riley!

I'm a 13-year-old young man with a big imagination, a love of adventure and a head full of interesting facts! I'm really creative, enjoy art and love playing Roblox. I'm also a big fan of trampoline parks - the more bouncing, the better! One of my biggest interests is history, especially castles, old buildings and discovering how people lived in the past. I love exploring historical places, finding out interesting facts and learning about things that happened hundreds of years ago. I also enjoy urban exploring and discovering unusual places, although we'll be sticking to places that are safe and open to visitors!

What Would We Get Up To?

I'm looking for a friendly, fun and adventurous Personal Assistant who can help me get out, try new things and enjoy my favourite activities.

Some of the things I'd love us to do include:

• Trampoline parks - I love bouncing around and having fun!
• Arts and crafts - I'm really artistic and enjoy being creative.
• Roblox - bonus points if you know your way around the game!
• Baking - I'd love some help making my very own apple pie, from shopping for the ingredients to enjoying the finished result!
• Shopping trips - helping me visit the shops, choose what I need and build my independence.
• Castles and historical adventures - visiting castles, old buildings and interesting historical sites.
• Walks and exploring - discovering new places, interesting architecture and hidden bits of history.
• Learning interesting facts - I love history, so be prepared for plenty of questions and unusual facts!
