Personal Assistant / Support Worker – Duns

A gentleman living in Duns is looking for a kind, reliable, and friendly Personal Assistant / Support Worker to provide 2 hours of support each week with meal preparation.

The role is focused on providing practical assistance with preparing meals and helping to make mealtimes easier and more enjoyable.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working in someone’s home, be respectful of their preferences, and have a friendly and supportive approach.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation.
• Support with planning and preparing meals as required.
• Help maintain a clean and tidy kitchen area following meal preparation.
• Encourage independence by supporting the gentleman to be involved in meal preparation where appropriate.
• Build a positive and respectful working relationship.
• Work in a person-centred way, taking account of the gentleman’s preferences and routines.

Terms

• Location: Duns
• Hours: 2 hours per week.
• Working Pattern: Flexible, with days and times to be discussed and agreed with the employer.
• Rate of Pay: £14.05 per hour.
• Holiday Entitlement: 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata.
• Probationary Period: 6 months.
• Appointment: Subject to satisfactory references and PVG / Disclosure Scotland check.
