Job summary

Encompass is seeking a compassionate Personal Assistant / Support Worker to provide one hour each morning to an elderly lady living in Chirnside. You will assist with getting out of bed, washing, dressing, breakfast, and motivating a safe start to the day within a supportive home.

The role requires patience and respect for privacy, with a focus on comfort and dignity. Desirable experience in personal care or elder support; basic first aid and continence awareness are a bonus; PVG/Disclosure

Responsibilities

• Assist the client with getting out of bed safely.
• Provide support with washing, dressing, and personal care.
• Assist with continence care and dispose of continence products appropriately.
• Change bedding when required and make the bed.
• Prepare and serve breakfast.
• Prompt the client to take prescribed medication and to drink water.
• Ensure a drink is left within easy reach before leaving.
• Promote the client’s comfort, dignity, and wellbeing at all times.
• Build a positive and respectful working relationship with the client and her family.

A caring, reliable, and compassionate Personal Assistant issoughtto provide morning support to an elderly lady living in Chirnside.

The successful candidate will provide practical support with morning routines, ensuring the client’s wellbeing and comfort while promoting a calm and respectful environment.

The client does not speak English; however, her son lives at the property and speaks English fluently, providing support with communication whererequired.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

• Assistthe client with getting out of bed safely.

Terms

• Location: Chirnside
• Hours: 1 hour each morning.
• Working Pattern: Daily, with the exact start time to be agreed with the employer.
• Rate of Pay: £14.05 per hour.
• Holiday Entitlement: 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata.
• Probationary Period: 6 months.
• Appointment: Subject to satisfactory references and PVG / Disclosure Scotland check.
• All statutory employment rights apply.
