Job summary

Glasgow Centre for Inclusive Living (GCIL) is seeking a warm Personal Assistant to support Thomas on weekends in Pollok, Glasgow. You will help him engage in activities in the community and provide patient, compassionate companionship.

Thomas has cerebral palsy and does not communicate verbally; you will tailor communication, build trust, and celebrate small moments. Shifts are Saturdays and Sundays with flexible timings.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with disabilities is beneficial.
• Weekend availability (Saturday and Sunday) is required.
• Based in Pollok, Glasgow and comfortable with community outings.

Responsibilities

• Provide weekend support to Thomas to enable outings and activities.
• Offer encouragement, build confidence, and help create happy memories.
• Respect Thomas's communication style and adapt interactions accordingly.

Thomas is looking for a Personal Assistant who can become a friendly and familiar face in his life. Someone who enjoys building relationships, celebrates the little moments, and understands that support is about much more than helping with daily tasks.

Whether it's a trip to Silverburn, exploring the local community, or simply spending time together, you'll play an important role in helping Thomas enjoy new experiences, build confidence, and make happy memories.

About the Role
