Job summary

Purple Dpss is seeking a compassionate support worker to assist with daily living tasks for a young man with mobility challenges. You will help with personal care, bathing, dressing, and toilet needs, using crutches and a wheelchair as required.

The role includes daytime hours Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings; bank holidays optional. You will provide reassurance during epilepsy-related episodes and support participation in daytime activities at home and in the community.

Job description

I require support with daily living tasks as my mobility can be difficult. I use crutches at all times and frequently require a wheelchair. Support is needed with personal care, including assistance with bathing, dressing and using the toilet. During periods when my epilepsy is more severe, I may require additional support and reassurance due to anxiety about falling.

I am a 21-year-old young man living at home with my mum, younger sister and our four cats. I attend a day service during the week and enjoy music, gaming on my Xbox, watching films with my family, going to the cinema, and playing Uno.

Hours and Rate of Pay

• Hourly Rate: TBC
• Hours: Monday to Friday (hours to be discussed) and Saturdays 9:00am to 1:00pm.

The role is offered across six days per week, with a half-day on Saturdays. Bank Holidays will generally not be required unless additional support is needed.
