Job summary

A local care organization in Leeds is seeking a Personal Assistant to support a 12-year-old boy with autism and a hearing impairment. The role involves community interaction, personal care, and ensuring the child's safety at all times. Experience with children and a driving license is preferred but not required. This position offers £12.40 per hour for 6 hours per week during term time and 8 hours during school holidays.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with autism or similar needs.
  • A full UK driving license and own vehicle preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and first aid training.

Responsibilities

  • Support the boy in accessing community activities.
  • Ensure 1:1 support to the boy at all times.
  • Assist with personal cares when needed.

PERSONAL ASSISTANT NEEDED – TO SUPPORT AN 12 YEAR OLD BOY WITH AUTISM & HEARING IMPEDIMENT WHO HAS A COCHLEAR IMPLANT

Armley area LEEDS 12 – 6 hours per week term time and 8 hours school holidays, on weekends to be discussed with Employer
£12.40 per hour

A PA who uses British Sign Language (BSL) would be advantageous, however the PA can also use symbols & would be supported by the Employer

A car driver with a full UK driving licence & their own vehicle is preferred but not essential

The successful PA will support the boy with accessing the community including parks, swimming & buses, & sometimes the PA will support him in his home as he likes to play with lego, bubbles, marbles, spinner toy & his toy cars.

The PA would need to ensure he is fully supported 1:1 at all times, including road safety. The PA would be required to support him with his personal cares when needed.
