Overview

1 x live in carer required (2 x 24 hour shifts available (48 hours total) on a Tuesday & Thursday (days and times can be negotiated at interview).

£12.60 per hour

Live in personal assistant required, funded through a direct payment, to support a disabled female within her own home in north Denbighshire.

We are advertising on the behalf of a disabled individual who requires support to maintain her physical health, wellbeing and independence at home through the employment of a personal assistant.

Responsibilities
  • To assist with safe meal preparation including drinks and snacks throughout the day.
  • To accompany the individual on social activities, appointments and excursions outside of the home.
  • To provide verbal prompts for medication.
  • To provide general domestic support within the home including laundry, changing bedding and general cleaning of home.
  • To ensure a safe environment and give due regard to health and safety at all times.
  • To support and encourage individual with computer skills as well as other hobbies and interests.
  • To safely transport and drive individual’s mobility vehicle to and from appointments and social excursions.

To support with personal care throughout the day and night, including:

  • Safe transfer from bed to chair using fixed hoist.
  • Attend to personal hygiene in a safe and dignified manner including daily washing, support with toileting, support to maintain oral hygiene and dressing/changing clothes.
  • (At night) Connecting NIV machine via mask (training to be provided for this).
  • To provide support to reposition throughout the night.
Personal Specification
  • Be punctual and reliable and have some degree of flexibility in working hours.
  • Respect the privacy of the family and uphold confidentiality at all times.
  • Respect and safeguard the goods and the property of the family.
  • To uphold a professional standard of care which should be maintained at all times.
  • To undertake the role with due regard for the physical and psychological needs of the individual.
  • Full driving licence with the candidate willing to disclose any previous driving record and penalties so they can be included on the individual’s motor insurance policy enabling them to drive the vehicle.
