Wage: £11.25 per hour, increasing to £12.50 after successful completion of probation.

Work schedule: Weekend and weekday shifts available. Shifts are 12 hours, with flexibility to be discussed. Potential for future shift adjustments.

Location: Birtley, County Durham.

This role involves providing physical assistance to enable me to live independently. No prior experience is necessary as training will be provided. The role requires helping with daily tasks such as cooking, dressing, and personal support, due to my condition (Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2).

Who I am looking for:

  • Someone interested in topics like history, politics, philosophy, science, psychology, sociology, football, music, and UFC.
  • Willing to learn and assist to the best of their ability.
  • Someone with a good sense of humor and openness to deep conversations.

The role involves working with me as part of a small team, maintaining organization and cleanliness, and supporting my long-term goals. I enjoy activities like going for coffee, attending music and science events, visiting heritage sites, and social outings. If these interests align with yours, this could be an ideal job.

The position requires physical tasks such as hoisting, handling, pushing, pulling, and bending. Good health and stamina are important, but physical strength is not necessarily required.

Additional details: Flexibility to cover other personal assistants' holidays and absences, and willingness to travel if needed, are desirable but not essential. You must have permission to work in the UK at the start of employment.
