Job summary

Disability North in Ashington seeks a caring and reliable Support Worker to provide 2:1 support for an 11-year-old boy with Autism. The role involves helping him participate in community, leisure, and social activities while building confidence, independence, and daily living skills.

You will work as part of a small, supportive team, have access to training, and be required to drive with a valid UK licence and business insurance. The position closes once a suitable candidate is appointed.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with autism or additional needs.
• Patient, understanding and positive approach, confidence in managing behavioural changes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance.

• Working as part of an experienced support team to meet his needs effectively.

Essential Requirements:

• Experience of supporting children or young people with Autism and/or additional needs
• A patient, understanding, and positive approach, confidence in managing and responding appropriately to behavioural changes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance
