Jacob is a happy 15 year old with a big personality and a great sense of humour. He loves the cinema and swimming, and would like to go out and about in the school holidays for an afternoon or two.
Jacob has Down’s Syndrome and severe learning difficulties. He uses Makaton with some vocalisations, and he is good at letting people know what he wants! He lives with mum and dad, two older brothers and pet dog.
We are looking for a PA to take him out and about in the school holidays and to join in family times as an extra pair of hands. Jacob also likes to relax with his iPad at home with a companion, so that mum, dad and brothers can do other things. Jacob has David Lloyd gym membership for swimming and also enjoys park trips – hours and activities are flexible according to the needs of the family and the PA.
You will need to assist with personal care tasks including changing nappies and colostomy bag, and tube feeding a blended diet (full training will be given). PA mileage and parking costs will be covered.
A driver with own vehicle and clean licence is preferred but non-drivers may apply.
