Disability North is seeking a kind, reliable Personal Assistant to support Jameel on weekends and school holidays. Your role will include accompanying him on community activities and helping him stay active and safe.

You will communicate clearly, be patient, and adapt to Jameel’s preferred ways of interacting. A UK work permit is required at start.

Experience with autistic young people is desirable, but a genuine willingness to learn is just as important.

Jameel is a bright, fun-loving 15-year-old with autism and learning disabilities. He communicates using single words and short sentences and responds best to people who are calm, patient, and understanding.

Jameel enjoys going out and about, especially visiting the park, going on the swings, and spending time outdoors. He sometimes finds loud shouting or crying distressing, so he benefits from a PA who can calmly support him and help create a reassuring environment.

Spending time out in the community helps him to cope, stay active, and enjoy positive experiences. Outings also support his independence and preparation for adulthood.
