Job description

Our Personal Assistants support people to lead full, active, and socially connected lives, helping individuals achieve the things that matter to them.

Applicants should have, or be willing to work towards, a qualification meeting the standards required for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

We are looking for Personal Assistants to work with a 49-year-old gentleman living in Craigmillar. There are various hours of work available.

About this opportunity

This gentleman has a diagnosis of Autism and Bi-polar disorder. He is a loving, caring man who can be overcome by his emotions. He has a weekly routine that is very important to him as he can find transitions difficult. This gentleman is tactile, loves to laugh, enjoys company, and to chat. He is very able and does not require any support with his personal care and is a delight to know.

Experience with Autism or mental health would be beneficial.

We are committed to supporting you to develop your skills as a practitioner and creating career development opportunities. At Thistle, you will have access to sector-leading training courses and be supported to achieve your SVQ level 3 in Health & Social Care accreditation.

Employee Benefits

  1. Starting salary £12.10 per hour (£24,538 per annum (FTE)) rising to £12.40 per hour (£25,147 (FTE)).
