Job description

I am a young lady with down syndrome and a profound learning difficulty, who lives in Galashiels at home with my twin sister who looks after me and Mum. My mum is bed bound and requires PA(s) to assist with her personal care needs. We are looking for PA(s) to join our team, keeping me safe at home and while out for activities in the community and assisting with mum’s care too. Thus, enabling my sister some time for herself.

Duties may include.

• Support with maintaining personal care.
• Support with activities.
• Meal preparation.
• Daily tasks while maintaining independence.
• Bed baths and bed change as and when needed
• Any other tasks that may be required

Hours of work

• Monday: 10.00am to 11.30am, 4.00pm to 5.00pm,
• Tuesday: 10.00am to 11.00am, 7.30pm to 8.00pm
• Thursday: 7.30pm to 8.30pm
• Friday: 10.00am to 10.30am, 7.30pm to 8.30pm
• More hours available to discuss with client
• Alternate Saturday & Sundays: 7.30pm to 8.30pm (starting 20 & 21^st December 2024)
• Alternate Saturday & Sundays: 10am to 12.00 noon (starting 08/02/2025)

Terms

• Hourly rate £13.20 per hour
• Expenses paid when out with client.
• Mileage 40p per mile while out with client
• Annual leave 5.6 weeks pro rata
• Subject to satisfactory references
