Job Description:

We are seeking a Personal Assistant for our 11-year-old son living in Bedale. Experience with children with autism, especially PDA and OCD, is required. The role involves helping manage social interactions, ensuring safety, and engaging in activities both outdoors and indoors, including gaming, walks, and outings.

Responsibilities include:

  • Escorting our son to parks, with options for biking or scooting, and playing games.
  • Transporting him on bus rides to Northallerton or other destinations.
  • Accompanying him to places of interest and dining out.
  • Taking him swimming.
  • Engaging in indoor gaming activities like Fortnite, Minecraft, and Teardown.
  • Walking the dogs to foster bonding.

The hourly rate is £12.10. No personal care is required. Hours are 12 per week during term time and 14 during school holidays, mainly Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with some weekend work possible. Flexibility is appreciated, with Tuesday being essential during term time. Expenses for activities and meals are reimbursed. The position offers 5.6 weeks of paid holiday annually, with two weeks aligned with family holidays in August. The role is contingent upon satisfactory references and DBS clearance.
