Job description
Personal Assistant Opportunity

Personal Assistant Opportunity – Support a Passionate, Creative, and Nature-Loving Student! Are you organized, proactive, and adaptable? Do you enjoy variety in your work and supporting someone with a diverse range of interests? I’m looking for a Personal Assistant to help me manage my day-to-day life as I prepare to return to university next year to study Wildlife Ecology and Conservation Science.

A Bit About Me: I’m deeply passionate about nature, wildlife, and the environment. I love exploring Bristol’s estuaries, parks, and woodlands, gardening, and engaging in conservation efforts. I’m also very creative—I enjoy painting, drawing, willow weaving, music, reading, and writing. My interests are always evolving, and I love picking up new hobbies or rediscovering old ones. I am currently adjusting to life using a wheelchair, and I’m determined to stay active, keep up with my passions, and find and connect with a community of like-minded people.

I’d love support in staying socially engaged, meeting people who share my interests, and navigating accessible activities and events. Another important part of my life is my beloved Hahn’s Macaw, who takes up a lot of my time and focus. My parrot is a huge part of my daily routine, so being comfortable around birds and understanding their needs would be a big plus!

  • Knowledge of Coeliac disease and safe gluten-free food preparation, or willingness to learn before starting (Essential)
  • Understanding of invisible disabilities, neurodiversity and autism

  • Supportive and proactive – helping me balance studies, hobbies, and daily life, as well as assisting with accessibility in my transition to using a wheelchair.
  • Socially minded – helping me stay connected with friends and meet new people who share my interests.
  • Comfortable around birds – as my parrot is a big part of my daily routine.
  • Passionate about nature and creativity – while not required, it would be a bonus if you share some of my interests!

Expected hours: Weekday mornings: 4 hours per day (start times to be discussed) Monday/Tuesday evenings: 1 hour per day from 5.00pm Weds/Thurs/Fri evenings: 2 hours from 5.30pm Weekends: typically 4 hours on a Saturday, with occasional split shifts (2h Saturday, 2h Sunday)
