Job description

Job Purpose:
I am a friendly gentleman in his 80s with mobility difficulties who is seeking two compassionate Personal Assistants to provide support with daily routines, occasional household tasks and support to access the community.

I require the use of two walking sticks and a mobility scooter to get around. However, despite my physical limitations, I enjoy getting out and about and have a passion for model boating and drone flying.

Support is required 7 days a week and this role is offered on a job share basis. Please specify on application what hours you are applying for.

On-site parking available.

Location: Poringland

Details:

Morning personal care (1 hour) – assisting with washing, dressing and applying cream on my legs and shoulders.
Evening support (30 minutes) – helping me get ready for bed.
Community access on Tuesdays and Thursdays (4 hours each morning) – assisting me with trips out, such as taking my model boat to Eaton Lake (I drive us in my car).

Summary terms and conditions:

The rate of pay for this position is £12.38 per hour.
You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
Hours and times of work: 18.5 hours per week (job share).

· 7 days a week: 1 hour daily in the mornings, 30 minutes daily in the evenings.
· Tuesdays and Thursdays: 4 hours each morning.

If this job requires any of the following: manual handling, handling of hazardous chemicals, food handling or the handling of medication, you will be required to undertake annual training.

The post is subject to the following:

A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
