Job summary

Cornwall Council Together for Families is seeking a kind and patient Personal Assistant to support a 14-year-old boy with autism and ADHD in the Helston area. The role focuses on building confidence, friendship, and independence through outdoor activities and community engagement.

You will help with life skills, such as shopping, using public transport, budgeting, and understanding behaviour and social interactions. DBS clearance is required, and travel is paid at 45p per mile.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with autism preferred.
• DBS clearance required for the role.
• Weekend availability may be required.

Responsibilities

• Build social confidence and help access activities in the community.
• Support life skills: shopping, using public transport, budgeting, and social interactions.
• Assist with indoor activities and hobbies, including gaming and Sonic the Hedgehog.
