Personal Assistant Required

23 year old male with learning disabilities

Location: Leeds 6 Burley Area

Purpose

This role supports a 23-year-old young man with a learning disability and health conditions to access and attend appointments, meetings, and social activities aligned with his interests.

About Me

I have diagnoses of: Intellectual Disability, GDD, FAS, DAD, ASD, ADHD, ASD. My health conditions include Crohn's, Diabetes, and Depression. I am independent and can go out and about, but sometimes my social skills can be challenging, which may upset others. My verbal skills are good, but I struggle with processing information, memory, and understanding my surroundings. I have poor time management, dislike queueing, and prefer activities of my choice. I enjoy train travel, visiting steam railways, heritage sites, museums, theme parks, arcades, laser zones, fairs, bowling, snooker, cinema, and cafes. I prefer not to engage in physical activities involving walking.

Main Duties
  • Support to get me to appointments and meetings on time
  • Attend appointments to help me understand discussions and decisions
  • Communicate pertinent information to my parents
  • Accompany me on outings related to my interests

Hours and Pay

6 hours on weekdays, 6 hours on Saturdays, with potential for additional hours. Pay: £12.60/hour on weekdays, £15.69/hour on weekends. Holiday pay and mileage covered.
