Position: Personal Assistant for a young adult

Location: Bristol - BS7

Salary: £12.00/hr

Job Description:

Personal Assistant required to support a person living in the Horfield area of Bristol. Support required with mental wellbeing, domestic tasks, driving to activities (as required), and taking a keen interest in the activities enjoyed by the young adult.

The young adult has a lot of respect for people who have worked in prisons or similar, so a history of working in a challenging environment would be preferable.

Responsibilities:
  1. Encouragement to undertake everyday tasks such as domestic and personal care.
  2. Meal preparation.
  3. Driving and supporting with activities such as swimming, attending concerts and exhibitions.
  4. Support to develop confidence within the community.
Essential Qualifications:

A full driving licence.

Experience and Interests:

A history of working in a challenging environment would be preferable, along with an interest in sewing and music.

Values:

The candidates for this role should demonstrate patience, communicate in a non-patronising manner, be engaged with their conversations, and listen to how the person wishes to be supported.

Hours:

19 hours per week - Monday to Sunday. An additional 10.5 hours a week will be available when the person has moved to more appropriate accommodation. Days and times to be negotiated. Flexibility with the hours is essential to factor in activities. Job share for two applicants would be preferable.

Rate of Pay:

£12.00 per hour, statutory annual leave, Pension. Role subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
