Job Description:

Rate of Pay: £13.50 per hour

Location: Norwich NR3

Hours:

  • Up to 9 hours per week, scheduled in advance, varying weekly:
  • Up to 3 x 2-hour evening shifts (4-6 pm)
  • Up to 6 hours during weekends, either as a single 6-hour shift or two 3-hour shifts, during daytime or late mornings/afternoons

The role involves supporting a happy, friendly, and chatty 9-year-old boy with complex additional needs, including autism, ADHD (awaiting assessment), hemiplegia (Cerebral Palsy), Epilepsy, Cerebral Vision Impairment, and Learning Disability. Responsibilities include supporting play, emotional regulation, communication, personal care, and safety, especially during seizures. You may also assist during outings, with own transport beneficial.

Responsibilities:
  • Supporting safe play at home, encouraging engagement and social interaction
  • Supporting appropriate behaviour and communication, promoting calmness and understanding
  • Assisting with limited personal care (toileting, handwashing)
  • Supporting safety during epileptic seizures according to Care Plan
  • Occasional outings during holidays or weekends
Essential Requirements:
  • Experience caring for children with additional needs
  • Epilepsy first aid training or willingness to undertake
  • Friendly, patient, understanding, reliable
