Personal Assistant for 15-year-old girl with Cerebral Palsy @ £12.40/hr in WF3 - WAKEFIELD - WF3

Overview

We are seeking a Personal Assistant to support our daughter in her daily activities both at home and in the community, fostering her independence.

Details
  • Rate of pay: £12.40/hr (aligned with Direct Payments)
  • Location: East Ardsley (WF3), Wakefield
  • Hours: Term time only
  • Monday – Thursday: 4pm – 6pm
  • Friday: 3:30pm – 6pm
  • Additional hours at weekends and during holidays may be available but are not essential
  • Start date: Monday 1st September 2025, with a pre-employment training session
About Lizzie

Lizzie is a bright and bubbly 15-year-old who loves music and dancing. She uses a power wheelchair and is working towards greater independence. Lizzie has well-controlled epilepsy and is a good communicator, using a communication aid when needed.

Responsibilities
  1. Personal care
  2. Assisting with homework
  3. Supporting independence tasks such as dressing
  4. Preparing meals and supporting self-feeding
  5. Engaging in leisure activities like after-school clubs, shopping, cinema, and bowling
Essential Criteria
  • Reliability
  • Sense of humour
  • Patience
  • Ability to assist with transfers
  • Driving license and own vehicle
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience working with individuals with Cerebral Palsy
Additional Information

ICT skills are beneficial as some activities and homework are online. Full training will be provided. An enhanced DBS check is required, which will be arranged by Leeds DP and PA Support Hub. Payroll is managed by Barrie Bookkeeping.
