Job Title: Personal Assistant (PA)
Job Ref: JI/DR/03/21
Reporting to: Employer
Location: North Solihull, West Midlands B36
Rate of Pay: £11 per hour

Nature of the job role:
A Personal Assistant is required to support a young man with severe mental and physical disabilities living in the North Solihull area.

Main Duties:
- Personal duties:To assist with all aspects of personal care.
- Domestic duties: To make sure everything is left clean and tidy after providing support.
- Social Duties: Assist the employer in accessing social activities.

Any other reasonable duties that may be necessary.

Hours of work:
10 - 12 hours per week which will include daytime and evening shifts during both weekdays and weekends. (days and times to be negotiated).

Qualifications:
Up to Level 3 NVQ preferred.

Skills & Experience:
The applicant requires a reliable, friendly and patient candidate with a flexible approach to work and capable of manual handling. The right candidate will also be a car driver over 25 for insurance purposes. Experience in administering medication (through PEG) and previous care experience is essential to the role, as you will be expected to manage the following (although support and training are provided):

- Seizures (although a rare occurrence)
- Suction Machine
- Nebuliser
- Hoist
- Set up an enteral feed to be given through PEG
