Purpose of the job

I am seeking a positive, reliable, and cheerful Personal Assistant (PA) to assist my 6-year-old son, who has a genetic condition affecting his daily mobility and communication. The role involves helping with school drop-offs or pick-ups 1,2 or 3 days a week depends of your ability, morning or afternoon, as the school is just 6 minutes away by car. We are looking for someone who can bring a warm, caring, and supportive presence to my son’s daily routine.

Hours and rate of Pay

£15 per hour

Main Duties

The role will also involve assisting my son with daily tasks such as dressing and eating, providing the support he needs to maintain his independence while ensuring he is comfortable. On other occasions, the role will include supporting my son with social activities during the half term, helping him engage in fun and enriching experiences outside of school. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is eager to make a positive impact on my son’s life. J mobilise on his tiny wheelchair and would need assistance to help get off and on his chair. We have ceiling hoist fixed but he is also able to weight bear with adult support.

Personal Assistant Specification

My assistant must be honest, trustworthy, and reliable.
My assistant must respect my privacy and always maintain my dignity.
My assistant must be enthusiastic and flexible with a caring disposition.
You must be able to work well independently and assist to mobilise from wheelchair to floor or chair.
Must have valid driving licence and own car.
My personal assistant is accountable to me in all aspects of their work. They should always ask what my needs are and listen to my directions and requests.
