We are looking for a Carer for a young man living with his family at home. He is a happy, fun-loving young man with a cheeky sense of humour. He has learning difficulties and well-controlled epilepsy. He is non-verbal but does let you know what he wants.
We are looking for someone who enjoys being outdoors and doing something different every day to become part of a small team of 3 full-time carers.
A rough idea of his day is to get him up and into a quick bath, dressed, have breakfast, and start the laundry. Then an activity in the community, e.g., walk, cycling, bowling, cinema, picnic, sometimes even the pub. Sort his lunch, then continue with your plans for the day. Evening meal as a family, then bath and ready to hand over.
Duties include:
Activity planning, ensuring medicine is taken, and minimal paperwork is required.
Driving is not essential as we are on the bus route.
Hours: 16-25 hours a week based on a set 3-week rota (so you know exactly what shifts you are doing forever). Shift hours are: 8am to 2pm and 2pm to 8pm. More hours available to cover other carers' holidays.
We are looking for someone who is reliable and honest.
Must like dogs.
