I am a 6-year-old girl with complex medical needs, including CDKL5 Deficiency Disorder, Epilepsy, Global Development Delay, and I am a non-mobile wheelchair user. I am severely sight impaired (registered blind), non-verbal, and double incontinent.

I am PEG fed with a blended diet and receive medication throughout the day. I have a VNS implant to help control my seizures; training will be provided. I am a sensory learner who enjoys listening to music, stories, sensory play, and hearing my family around me.

I am seeking a PA who is enthusiastic and can make my days fun and meaningful, focusing on my needs. Support is needed Monday to Friday, including getting me ready for school each morning, playing with me after school, and assisting with my physiotherapy program.

Training will be provided in drug administration, physiotherapy, moving and handling, and other care elements. Experience in this field is preferable.

Work Duties:

1. Personal care – including washing, dressing, changing incontinence pads.
2. Administer PEG feed.
3. Administer VNS therapy.
4. Sensory play including floor activities.
5. Arts and crafts/messy play.
6. Physiotherapy, including use of my stander and work chair.
7. Outdoor walking/exercise.
8. Administer medication.
9. Prepare me for transport to school.
10. Assist with leisure activities and family day trips.
11. Support parents with ad hoc duties to promote positive family functioning at home.

Supporting with:

• My mobility and use of hoist, ensuring my safety.
• Ensuring my safety during all activities at home or outside.

Other requirements:

• Work safely and report health and safety concerns.
• Assist with managing health risks.
• Establish and maintain effective communication.
• Maintain confidentiality.

Location:

• Within the employer’s home and local area.
• Day trips with my family.

Hours and rate of pay:

• £12.40 per hour.
• 21 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
• 6:00 am – 8:30 am and 3:30 pm – 5/6 pm (flexible to combine and have longer evenings).

• An enhanced DBS check will be required.
