Self Direct Support Options Fife is advertising a Personal Assistant role in Glenrothes to support a 19-year-old woman with cerebral palsy, learning disabilities and wheelchair use. The role involves accompanying her on community activities, helping with hobbies, shopping and meals, with some personal care. A mobility car is available and driving is preferred but not essential.

PVG checks are required. Female applicants only due to Occupational Requirement.

Formación

• Experience in personal care or support work is beneficial.
• Able to work 24 hours per week and weekends may be required.
• PVG check or willingness to undergo PVG check.

Personal Assistant - 24 Hours Per Week, Glenrothes (SDS/EG/271499)

We are looking for a personal care assistant to our client who is an 19-year-old woman with cerebral palsy, learning disabilities and is a wheelchair user.

You will be supporting our client with going out in the community and helping her to take part in activities/hobbies. These may be attending youth groups, swimming, ice skating, going shopping or out for lunch. The successful applicant would also suggest some other fun activities. There will be some personal care involved in this role.

Our client has a mobility car so being a driver would be preferred but non-drivers will still be considered. As our client is a wheelchair user, who also uses hoists for transfers, so a good level of fitness is essential. There is also the possibility for more hours, which may be discussed with the successful applicant.

Applicants must have a caring attitude, have a good sense of humour, be reliable with a positive and flexible approach to work. Having experience within this area would be of benefit. Training on hoist can be given if needed.

This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
