Job summary

A carer is required to support a gentleman living in North Cave. The gentleman is a full-time wheelchair user and uses a ceiling hoist for moving and handling. Training is provided for new employees, including support with catheter.

The role involves personal care, washing, meal preparation and feeding, and assisting with afterwards washing and dental hygiene. DBS/Medical checks are required; costs are met by the local authority through the Direct Payments Support Service, an in-house ERYC

This is an external vacancy and is not employment with East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

Carer required to support a gentleman living in North Cave. Gentleman is a full time wheelchair user and uses a ceiling hoist for moving and handling. Training is provided for new employees. In addition requires support with catheter, training will be given.

Gentleman requires support with personal care, washing etc. Support with meal preparation and feeding and assisting afterwards to wash face and clean teeth. Carer would be required to complete small household duties i.e. washing pots and putting away after a meal.

DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post - Cost to be met by the local authority.

The Direct Payments Support Service is an in-house service provided by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The service promotes independent choice and inclusion, allowing our service users to employ their own care and support as needed. We support many individuals with varying abilities, assisting with advertising and recruitment for a range of roles including support workers, carers and personal assistants.
