Personal Assistant

I am looking for a Personal Assistant to work with me for 10 hours every week.

About Myself

I’m a 10 year old girl living with my family in the Merthyr area. I am social and enjoy technology very much. I try to be very independent, but with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) I use PECS normally but also have my own words for some things. I seek sensory stimulation; my mum thinks I am obsessed with my iPad, which we are trying to limit. I also like blankets, cushions, towels, tags, and play dough—anything messy. I don’t like the word “No” and like to be in control. My mum gives me a choice of 2 or 3 items that makes me feel that I have some control.

Tasks and Duties

I would like a Personal Assistant to take me out to be more social and have independence. I also need someone to help get me dressed at home after school hours.

Type of Person Required

I would like someone kind, friendly, and patient. Awareness/experience of working with individuals with ASD is highly desirable. Someone with a car and driving license is preferred.

Working Hours / Pay Rate

10 hours per week, 52 weeks of the year. £14.00 per hour and mileage expense of £0.40 per mile.

About The Job

Salary Frequency – Calendar Monthly. The successful applicant will be subject to a three-month trial period. Applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS police check at no cost to themselves.

Training

Full training will be provided by parents.
