Job description

Job Advert: Alliance Vetting Researcher (Scale D) Locations:

  • Middlemoor HQ, Exeter (1 vacancy)

  • Dorset HQ, Winfrith (1 vacancy)

Umbrella Rate: £17.80 per hour

About the Role We are looking for skilled Alliance Vetting Researchers to join the Professional Standards Department. You will undertake detailed research and analysis of force and national police databases, supporting vetting decisions in line with the Police Code of Ethics and Vetting Code of Practice.

Key Requirements
  • Educated to A Level standard or relevant business experience.

  • A recognised business administration qualification or commitment to work towards one, or equivalent experience.

  • Strong command of English — able to listen, summarise, and communicate issues clearly both verbally and in writing.

  • IT literate with proven skills in Microsoft 365 and document layout.

  • Quick to learn and understand Force IT systems, including SharePoint.

  • Strong decision-making and practical problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing duties and meet deadlines.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy with a methodical approach.

  • Proven interpersonal skills with good literacy and comprehension.

  • Minute-taking or Personal Assistant experience desirable.

Location Candidates can be based at either Middlemoor HQ, Exeter or Dorset HQ, Winfrith. Please specify your preferred location when applying.
