Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in West Sussexto assist with the appointment of a Personal Advisor-Leaving Care Teamto work in a residential care setting.

We have both regular shifts (37 hours per week) and bank shifts available. Please note that we don't offer sponsorship, and the worker should be able to work full time without restrictions. We would need 5 years work references checked out before you start the shifts.

Rate of Pay: £17.26 - £22.77 per hour

Summary:

As a Personal Advisor in the Leaving Care Team, you will support care leavers aged 17-25 in their transition to adulthood. You will act as a key figure in their journey, offering advocacy, planning, and emotional support during this crucial phase.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main point of contact for a caseload of care leavers, providing tailored advice and support.
  • Conduct assessments and prepare Pathway Plans based on individual needs and goals.
  • Support young people in developing life skills and accessing opportunities in education, training, and employment.
  • Assist with housing needs and support the transition from care into independent living.
  • Work in partnership with families, carers, social workers, health professionals, education providers, and other agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification/experience in youth work, social care, or related field
  • A postgraduate qualification in a relevant area (desirable).
  • Knowledge of legislation and national policy regarding care leavers and youth services.

Essentials:

  • Experience supporting young people through transitions and managing caseloads.
  • Experience supporting young people facing challenges such as trauma, mental health issues, substance misuse, or offending behaviour.
  • Full driving license

Please note:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
