Personal Advisor (Leaving Care)

We are working in partnership with the local authority in Merseyside who are looking to appoint a Personal Advisor to assist the Children’s Leaving Care Team.

3-6 Month agency contract with a view to being extended on an ongoing basis.

Full-time positions - 36 hours.

Location – Bootle, L20.

Rate of Pay - £15 - £18 per hour (negotiable based on experience).

About the Role:
  1. Contribute to the operational delivery of an effective Children’s Social Care Service as part of a team responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people leaving or who have left care, aiming to improve outcomes.
  2. Support allocated cases in accordance with national and departmental procedures and guidance.
  3. Help manage the reputation of the service and the Council, ensuring compliance with procedures and guidance.
  4. Provide advice and practical support to care leavers, including financial advice, accommodation options, education, training, employment, leisure, and cultural opportunities to enable community participation.
  5. Participate in assessing, preparing, monitoring, and reviewing Pathway Plans with a person-centred approach that empowers young people and their families.
  6. Promote and facilitate contact between young people and their birth families, providing supervision and assessment as needed.
  7. Coordinate services and ensure care leavers utilize available resources.
  8. Maintain records of care leavers' progress and well-being through various methods, including direct contact.
Experience Needed:
  1. Leaving Care Support experience.
  2. Experience with Local Authority / Public Sector.
