Achieving for Children is seeking a dedicated Personal Advisor to work with young people aged 16 and over in the care system. You will collaborate with social workers as part of a multi-agency network to assess needs and support pathway planning.

You will help young people develop money management skills, secure suitable accommodation, access education, training and employment, maintain a healthy lifestyle, access health support, and build lasting social networks for life.

Qualificações

  • Experience as Personal Advisor or similar role.
  • Direct work with young people in formal and informal settings.
  • Experience building relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to work within time frames and meet deadlines.

Responsabilidades

  • Assess and work with young people to understand needs via pathway planning.
  • Encourage development of skills, knowledge and confidence to live independently.
  • Help with money management, suitable accommodation, education, training and employment, healthy lifestyle, health access and social network development.

About the role

As part of this role you will work alongside social workers to support young people aged 16 and over who are in the care system, you will be working as part of a team and within a multi-agency network. You will responsible for:

  • assessing and working collaboratively with young people to understand their needs via pathway planning
  • encouraging and helping young people develop the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to live independently
  • helping young people develop their ability to manage money, have appropriate and safe accommodation options, access education training and employment, live a healthy lifestyle and access health support when they need it and develop and maintain social networks that will sustain them through their lives

About you

The successful applicant will have the following qualities:

  • previous Personal Advisor experience, Youth Work , Family Support Work or related field e.g. NVQ4, guidance, Youth and Community work
  • experience in direct work with young people in formal and informal settings
  • experience of building productive relationships with internal and external partners / agencies so young people get the best possible service from a range of opportunities
  • ability to work within time frames and keeping to deadlines amongst competing demands
