Home Brewery Building, Sir John Robinson Way, Arnold, NG5 6DA

The Leaving Care service work with care leavers from the age of 16 and we are looking to recruit a part time temporary Personal Advisor (Grade 5) in our South team based at Arnold. This is to cover a maternity leave and is for 12 months, with a possibility of extension or could become permanent.

You will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to form positive sustainable relationships with a diverse group of young people. You will have your own caseload of young people aged 16 to 21 and will be expected to support care leavers into adulthood providing a range of practical and financial support. This will involve face to face visiting, advocacy, negotiation and working with other agencies and colleagues to ensure young people’s needs are met.

You will be passionate and committed to supporting young people to reach their full potential, and to develop an effective working relationship in order to motivate and support care leavers to engage in education, training and employment, and have the necessary emotional resilience and skills for independence.

You need to be able to work independently (with ongoing support and supervision being provided); and be part of a very supportive team.

This post is also available as a secondment opportunity to existing Nottinghamshire County Council employees. You must seek approval from your line manager before applying.
