Qualifications

Hours: 37 per week (flexible working arrangements available)

DBS: Enhanced DBS required

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Personal Advisor (PA) to join our Care Leavers Service.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people transitioning out of care and help them build independent, fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support care leavers aged 16+ in areas such as:
    • Health & Emotional Well-being (GP, dental, optical)
    • Identity (ethnicity, religion, self-care, presentation)
    • Family & Social Relationships
    • Finances (budgeting, practical life skills)
    • Accommodation & Housing
    • Support for Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC)
  • Act as an advocate for care leavers, ensuring their needs are met and entitlements accessed.
  • Develop and review Pathway Plans to promote independence and life opportunities.
  • Maintain regular contact and monitor progress of care leavers.
  • Liaise with health, education, housing, and employment partners.
  • Keep accurate electronic records and documentation.
About You
  • Proven experience working with young people or young adults, especially those in vulnerable or crisis situations.
  • Strong understanding of Children Leaving Care legislation and statutory responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to assess needs, plan support, and work collaboratively with multi-agency teams.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
