The Role:

Warrington are seeking to appoint an outstanding and highly motivated Personal Advisor to join our ‘GOOD’ Care Leavers Service.

Personal Advisors are the last point of contact for our young people on their journey through care and into adulthood. As a personal advisor, you will start to work with young people from their 16th birthday, forming relationships and contributing to their pathway plan on their journey into independence.

The role involves working with a wide range of differing needs/complexities and supporting one of the most vulnerable groups within society. You must be able to work with partner agencies and be prepared to travel/respond to crises as they arise. We work with young people up until their 25th birthday. Personal advisors can often be the only professional involved with a care leaver; therefore, the role includes practical as well as emotional support along with providing advice and guidance or signposting to various support services.

We are proud of our ever-expanding Local Offer for care leavers in Warrington and the work we do to promote participation. This includes our open-door drop-in service at the Living Well Hub where we are developing a portfolio of resources and workshops for our care experienced young people to access. We are proud of our relationships with our young people and how we innovatively maintain contact with them.

What’s needed for the role?

  1. Experience working as a Personal Advisor.
  2. Minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject to the role.
  3. At least 5 GCSEs including maths and English.

We are seeking to appoint a Personal Advisor who can:

  1. Carry out duties of a Personal Advisor under the terms of the Children Leaving Care Act 2000.
  2. Advise and assist social workers in a range of tasks related to preparing young people for independence.
  3. Support care leavers living independently in the community.
  4. Work in partnership with a range of other agencies ensuring that young people leaving care receive the highest possible standard of service.
  5. The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Benefits:

  • Free ongoing training opportunities upon registering as part of our commitment to you.
  • Competitive rates of pay.
  • In-house payroll, providing weekly payments and support.
  • Enhanced DBS completed.
  • Support and expert advice from an approachable, dedicated, and friendly team.
  • An assigned dedicated & experienced consultant.
  • Various employment opportunities in your preferred geographical area.
