Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside professionals from a range of disciplines including social workers, probation services, police, accommodation providers, housing, welfare benefits, mental health professionals, substance misuse services, and foundations to employment.

The Children in Care and Care Leavers service consists of a team of Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, and Personal Advisors (PA) across Staffordshire primarily based at the Tamworth office.

This is fixed term for 4 months.

Some working outside of core hours will be required.

Main Responsibilities

You will:

  • Help prepare young adults to ensure they are supported within their journey to independence.
  • Empower young adults to develop skills to prepare them for their futures and be responsible for providing practical support, advice, and guidance while fulfilling the statutory requirements of the Leaving Care Act to our care experienced young people aged 16-25.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have:

  • Significant experience of working with children/young people.
  • Good communication skills.
  • An ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with other professionals, and be solution-focused to achieve the best outcomes for our care experienced young people.
  • The ability to travel across the county.

You will be eligible for an essential car allowance and mileage rates are paid.
